This diskette provides the audio driver for OS/2 users.

This diskette enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers:

- ThinkPad 380, 380D, 380E, 380ED, 380XD and 380Z
- ThinkPad 385D, 385ED and 385XD
- ThinkPad 560X a nd 560Z
- ThinkPad 600, 600E
- ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z

Installation Guide

  1. Start OS/2.
  2. Insert the ThinkPad Audio Features Diskette for OS/2 into the diskette drive.
  3. Open the OS/2 command prompt and type MINSTALL. Then press Enter.
  4. Select A: for the source drive.
  5. The installation program shows Crystal Audio (Pre-Selected), IBM OPL-3 FM MIDI Synthsis (Preselected). from the list. A check mark appears next to the selected items.
  6. Click Install; then follow the instructions on the screen.
  7. When you have completed the installaion, restart the computer.

    NOTES:
    • Make sure you have selected Multimedia Software Support in the OS/2 Setup and Installation window when you installed OS/2.
    • Make sure you have not selected any audio hardware during the OS/2 installation; otherwise, OS/2 might detect your audio hardware as SoundBlaster Pro by mistake and install the device driver for SoundBlaster Pro into your hard disk drive.
    • If you had error messages during OS/2 boot, you need to uninstall multimedia software using the Selective Uninstall program.
    • When you reinstall the multimedia software supported by Selective Install program, make sure to remove SoundBlaster Pro from the Multimedia Device Support in the system configuration window.
