Boot disk for use with the Windows 95 Recovery CD - ThinkPad General
|

This file is used to replace or update the diskette used with the Recovery CD that ships with some systems. This new diskette now includes support for two external PCMCIA CD-ROM drives.
The following models are supported:
-ThinkPad 380 and 385 series
- ThinkPad 560E, 560X, and 560Z
- ThinkPad 600 series
- ThinkPad 760XD and 760XL
- ThinkPad 765D and 765L
- ThinkPad 770 series |

Important
If the hard disk drive is formatted as NTFS or FAT32, the Recovery CD will not reinstall the preloaded software. If your hard disk drive is formatted as NTFS or FAT32, you will need to change it to FAT16 prior to beginning the recovery process.
Please initialize the system prior to recovering their system. This insures that the IRQ required by the external CD ROM drive is free. If the external CD-ROM drive does not have a free IRQ this will result in a CDR101 error.
To initialize the system do the following:
- Boot the system holding the F1 key.
- Click the Config icon then click Initialize.
- Choose OK and reboot the system.
v2.50 - now includes a 10 second delay to allow the CDROM to spin up before starting the recovery process.
Supported external PC Card CD-ROM drives
These CD-ROM drives are currently support by the RECOVERY boot diskette:
- IBM Portable CD-ROM Drive CD-20X
- CNF Portable CD-ROM XA Drive 2X
