UltraBase utility driver II for Windows 95/98/Me - ThinkPad 570

The Utility Driver package II for Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me provide the following utility program for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows Me in APM mode:
- ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach Driver

This release supports the following systems:
- ThinkPad 570, 570E
- ThinkPad i Series 1157(*1)
*1: Supports Windows 98 only.

- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

Additional information

Note: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, and Windows 2000.

I. Summary of Changes:
version 1.00 IMUX03US
- (New) Support for ThinkPad 570.

version 1.01 IUUX02US
- (New) Support for ThinkPad 570
- (New) Support forThinkPad i Series 1157.
- (Fix) System will freeze when your pressed CTRL+ALT+DEL at the "Close Program" Window under Windows 98

version 1.02 IUUX04US
- (New) Support Windows Me (APM Mode).

II. Installation instructions
Notes:
- If a previous version of this driver is already installed, it must be removed before proceeding with the installation instructions given below. Use the Add/Remove Programs icon in Control Panel to remove the current driver.
- If you follow the steps in ** case A ** , you may see the following warning dialog. A file being copied is older than the file currently on your computer. It is recommended that you keep you existing file. .... Do you want to keep this file? Select No to ignore it, and continue the installation.

  1. Start Windows 95/98/Me.
  2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk dirve.
  3. Click Start, slect Settings, then click Control Panel.
  4. Double click the Add New Hardware icon.
  5. At the Begin installing your new hardware window, Select Next.
    If installing on Windows 95 continue to step 6.
    If installing on Windows 98/Me do the following:
    - At the search for new Plug and Play devices windows, click Next.
    - At the Is the device that you want to install listed below? window, select No, the device isn't in the list and click Next.
  6. When prompted Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware? choose No, I want to select the hardware from a list and click Next.
  7. Under Hardware types, select Other devices and click Next.
  8. At the Select the manufacturer window, click the Have Disk button.
  9. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted and click the OK button. The Driver list will appear. Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\BASEATCH\
  10. Select ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach Driver and click Next.
  11. Click the Finish button.
  12. Restart the operating system.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Click UltraBase Tray Icon in Task Tray.
  2. Select About.
  3. Version (ex. IMUX03US) which is written at above Summary of Changed or Fixed Items section will appear.
    ex. If Version : IMUX03US appear in About Panel, it means Version 1.00.
