This package provides HotSwap driver for Microsoft Windows 95/98 with APM mode users. The HotSwap driver enables or updates the ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach function of the following ThinkPad computers:

I. Summary of changes
Version 4.00.950.1015 - 1DUV03US

  • (New) Support for ThinkPad X22, X23, X24

II. Installation instructions
Update install

  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
  5. Select ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach Driver in the list.
  6. Click the Add/Remove button.
  7. Restart Windows 95/98.
  8. Continue installation by the Clean install procedure below.

Clean install

  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
  3. Go to the directory which you extract the driver
  4. Right-click the IBMBAY2.inf file.
  5. Select install item menu on Context window menus
  6. Restart the system

Uninstall:

  1. Start Windows 95/98
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
  5. Click ThinkPad Ultra Base Hot-Attach Driver in the list.
  6. Click the Add/Remove... button.
  7. Restart the system

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Click UltraBase X2 Tray icon in Task Tray.
  2. Select About. Version (ex. 1DUV03US) which is written above in Summary of Changes section will appear. For example, if "Version: 1DUV03US" appears in the About Panel, it means version 4.00.950.1015.
