Modem driver IV for Windows 2000 - ThinkPad R30

This package provides the modem driver for Microsoft Windows 2000.
This package enables or updates the modem function of the following ThinkPad computers:

- ThinkPad R30 (Ethernet Wireless integrated models only) *1

Notes: *1 If your ThinkPadR30 is not an Ethernet Wireless integrated model, Install "ThinkPad R30 Modem driver(CDC modem) for Windows 2000" instead of this package.
This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes
Version 3.1.96

  • (New) Support for ThinkPad R30

Version 2.1.25

  • (Fix)(Windows 2000) AMR CDC MODEM conflicts with ISDN PC-card (09N3607).
  • (Fix) Enumerate ID change.
    NOTE: The audio driver (version 5.12.01.5260) must be installed prior to installing this modem driver (version 2.1.25).

Version 2.1.25a

  • (Fix) Can not install by ThinkPad Software Installer.
    NOTE: There is no change to the driver itself. If you have already updated the system to this version, you do not need to apply this release.

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.

  1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start and then click Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system for the driver to take effect.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the System icon.
  4. Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
  5. Click the Device Manager button.
  6. Expand the Modem section.
  7. Select Agere Systems AC'97 Modem.
  8. Right-click Agere Systems AC'97 Modem and select Properties.
  9. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed.
