This package provides Intel SpeedStep Technology Applet. SpeedStep is a mobile technology that allows an enabled CPU to operate in multiple performance states under Microsoft Windows 2000.
This package enables or updates the applet programs of the following ThinkPad computers:

NOTES:
ThinkPad Software Installer does not support installation or uninstallation of this package.
If you have a previous version, uninstall it first, then reboot the system.
Uninstalling
Start Windows 2000.
Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
Click Changeor Remove programs tab.
Click Intel Speed Step Technology Applet in the list.
Click the Change/Remove button.
Follow instructions and restart Windows.
Installing
Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
Extract the package to the hard disk drive.
Click Start and then click Run.
Specify the SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
III. Determining which version is installed
Double-click the SpeedStep icon in the systray (a flag icon).
Click the Advanced button and the version will be displayed at the top right.
