This package contains the following support modules.
- Support TI PCI 1520 CardBus controller - Support TI PCI 1510 CardBus controller - Support TI PCI 4520 CardBus controller
Notes: - If you use the Product Recovery function shipped with your ThinkPad to restore the Microsoft Windows preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows Operating Systems without the Product Recovery function. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

The following ThinkPad computers are supported:
- ThinkPad G41
- ThinkPad R40
- ThinkPad R60(*1), R60e
- ThinkPad R50(*1), R50e(*1), R50p(*1), R51(*1), R51e(*1)
- ThinkPad R52(*1) (Machine type: 1858, 1859, 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863)
- ThinkPad R60(*1), R60e
- ThinkPad T30 (Machine type: 2366, 2367-66x, 67x, E7x, K7x, 86x, C6x 87x, 8Ax, 8Gx, 68x, 88x, 89x, 56x, 96x, 57x, 97x, 5Ax, 9Ax, 5Bx, 9Bx, N6x, R6x, P6x, Mxx)
- ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p(*1)
- ThinkPad T43(*1) (Machine type: 1871, 1872, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1876)
- ThinkPad T60, T60p
Note: *1: Only Windows 2000 is supported.

- (New) Support TI 1520/1510 CardBus controller
- Start Windows 2000.
- Extract this package onto the hard drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Double-click on System
- Select the Hardware tab.
- Click Device Manager.
- Double-click PCMCIA adapters.
- Double-click Generic CardBus Controller.
- Select the Driver tab.
- Click Update Driver.
- Click Next.
- Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).
- Click Next.
- Select Specify a location.
- Specify the path of the files extracted in step 2. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PCI1520.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Close.
- Repeat steps 4 through step 19 for the other Generic CardBus Controller listed in Device Manager.
- Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath=folder for TI PCI1520 under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt file.
For example, OemPnPDriversPath=DRIVERS\OTHER
- Create the folder with the name of folder for TI PCI1520.
For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER
- Put the files, ticb2k.cat and TICB2K.INF, in the folder created above.
- Start Windows 98.
- Extract this package onto the hard drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Double-click System, then click the Device Manager tab.
- Click PCMCIA socket to expand its contents.
- Right-click Generic CardBus Controller and select Properties.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click Update Driver.
- Click Next.
- Select the Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended) option.
- Click Next.
- Select Specify a location:.
- Specify the location this package was extracted to in step 2. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PCI1520.
- Click Next twice.
- If the Insert Disk dialog is displayed, specify the Win98 directory on the CD-ROM, or the local hard disk drive copy of Windows 98 and then click OK twice.
- Click Finish.
- Repeat from step 4 to 15 for the other Generic CardBus Controller listed in Device Manager.
- Type
COPY C:\DRIVERS\W9X\SUPP\PCI1520\TI.INF tgt_drv:\tgt_dir\PCMCIA.INF and press the Enter key.
- Type COPY C:\DRIVERS\W9X\SUPP\PCI1520\TI-CBus.CAT tgt_drv:\tgt_dir and press the Enter key.
Note: tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: is the hard disk drive letter and temporary directory of the Windows 98/SE cabinet files copied from the Windows 98 CD-ROM. (Example: C:\WIN98)
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract this package onto the hard drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Double-click System, then click the Device Manager tab.
- Click PCMCIA socket to expand its contents.
- Right-click Generic CardBus Controller and select Properties.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click Update Driver.
- Select Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) option.
- Click Next.
- Select the Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended) option.
- Select Specify a location:.
- Specify the location this package was extracted to in step 2. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PCI1520.
- Click Next, and follow the instruction the dialog.
- Repeat from step 4 to 14 for the other Generic CardBus Controller listed in Device Manager.
Note: Windows Me does not have unattended installation function because it is a consumer Operating System.
