Hardware requirements
The 10/100 EtherJet PCI Adapter with Alert on LAN 2 can be installed in most PCI-slot equipped, Intel Pentium-architecture processor, PCs. PCs that are not supported are listed in the Limitations section. Use of the Wake on LAN function requires a PCI 2.2-compatible PC that supports Wake on LAN and provides auxiliary 3.3 V power through the PCI bus.
For use of the Alert on LAN 2 features, the PC must be enabled with compatible Alert on LAN 2 hardware and software components.
A network adapter cable is not included with these adapters. For 100BASE-TX operation, a UTP-5 cable with an RJ-45 connector is required. For 10BASE-T operation, a UTP-3, -4, or -5 cable is required.
Software requirements
There is no mandatory software; however, an operating system that supports networking is required. Device drivers for all leading operating systems are provided.
A software program such as LAN Client Control Manager, or equivalent, is recommended for use with the Wake on LAN feature.
For use of the Alert on LAN 2 features, the PC must be enabled with compatible Alert on LAN 2 hardware and software components.

Compatibility
The 10/100 EtherJet Adapter with Alert on LAN 2 is compatible with all of the latest and current PC desktop systems, including all PC 360, 365, 300GL, 300PL, 300XL, and IntelliStation E/M/Z family models.
It is NOT compatible with these following older PC systems, listed here by machine type:
- 6573, 6575, 6576, 6577, 6583, 6585, 6586, 6587
- 6875, 6876, 6877, 6885, 6886, 6887
For these PCI 2.1 systems, you can order the part number (PN) 34L0201 adapter that will provide the same features offered by PN 34L1101 without the Alert on LAN 2 function.
