This package provides the video driver for Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me users.
*The video driver enables or updates the video function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad A20m - ThinkPad A21m - ThinkPad A21e (Machine Type 2628,2655 only) - ThinkPad A22e (Celeron Models only) - ThinkPad A22m (except Model 2628-Sxx) - ThinkPad X20, X21 - ThinkPad TransNote (Supports Windows 98/Me only)

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

- (Fix) During LCD open/close, users operate the keyboard or the mouse to resume from the monitor-off, merely, the LCD displays nothing. This problem has been fixed.

II. Installation instructions for Windows Me/98/95 OSR2.x
NOTE: Make sure that DirectX 8 runtime modules are installed into the system before installing this driver. DirectX runtime modules are available by visiting Microsoft's DirectX Resource Center.
WindowsMe
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract the Video feature driver onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- In the run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE to install the video driver. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify the location instead.
- Select ATI Easy Install.
- When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button.
- At the Software License Agreement screen, if you agree, click Yes.
- Click Express Install.
- If the Digital Signature Notification window appears, follow these steps:
Click the Advanced button.
Select Warm when installing unsigned devices and click the OK button.
Click the Yes button.
- Click the OK button.
- At Setup complete screen, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now and click Finish.
Windows 95/98
- Start Windows 95/98.
- Extract the Video Features for Windows 95/98 onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE to install the video driver. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
- When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button.
- At the Software license Agreement screen, if you agree, click Yes.
- At the Setup Complete window, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
- Click Finish to reboot the system.
III. Installation instructions for Windows 95 OSR0 and OSR1
Since the Setup.exe, InstallShield does not work with Windows 95 OSR0/1 do the following:
Clean installation
- Start Windows 95.
- Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand Display Adapters and remove Standard Display Adapter (VGA).
- At the Confirm Device Removal window, click OK .
- At the Restart confirmation message window, click NO .
- Expand Other Devices and remove PCI VGA-Compatible Display Adapter.
- At the Confirm Device Removal window, click OK.
- At the PCI VGA-Compatible Display Adapter Has a ROM window, click Test.
- Shutdown and restart the system.
- When the system starts, the New Hardware Found window appears. Select Driver provided by hardware manufacturer and click OK.
- Specify the directory where the driver files were extracted and click OK.
- At the System Settings Change window, click YES to restart the system.
Overwrite installation
- Start Windows 95.
- Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand Display Adapters.
- Select RAGE Mobility-M AGP and click Properties.
- Select the Driver tab.
- Click the Change Driver button.
- Click the Have Disk button.
- Specify C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\ and click OK.
- At the Select Device window, select RAGE Mobility-M AGP and click OK.
- At the RAGE Mobility-M AGP Properties window, click OK.
- At the Insert Disk window, click OK.
- Specify C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\ and click OK.
- At the System Settings have changed window, click Yes to restart the system.
IV. Determining which version is installed
Windows Me/98
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Display icon.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click the Advanced (Properties) button.
- Click the Options tab. The build is part of the version number.
Windows 95
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Display icon.
- Click the Options tab. The build is part of the version number.
