II. Installation instructions
For the additional detailed information, refer the IBM 10/100 EtherJet Mini-PCI Adapter with 56K Modem User's guide.
For Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000 device driver installation or update, use the standard tools provided by the operating system (Add New Hardware, etc.) and point to the directory location containing the drivers such as follows:
Windows 98 (driver update):

1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Device Manager tab.
4. Click the + mark on the Network Adapter.
5. Double-click Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI.
6. Click the Driver tab.
7. Click the Update Driver button.
8. Click the Next button.
9. Click the Next button.
10. Specify the directory where the drivers are extracted, click the Next button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Device Manager tab.
4. Click the + mark on the Network Adapter.
5. Double-click Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI.
6. Click the Driver tab.
7. Click the Update Driver button.

4. Click the Protocols tab.
5. Click the Add button.
6. Click the Have Disk button.
7. Type the full path to the directory npmint40 beneath the directory where you extracted the drivers, click the OK button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen. For example, if you extracted the drivers into c:\Ethernet directory, you have to type the path as c:\Ethernet\npmint40.

1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
2. Click Find ....
3. Type one of the NDIS driver names in Named : field. For example, if you are using Windows 2000, type E100bnt5.sys in the field.
4. Click the Find Now button.
5. It lists the NDIS driver(s). If it does not list the NDIS driver, the Ethernet device driver is not installed in your system.
6. Right-click the NDIS driver that is found in the Windows folder.
7. Click Properties.
8. Click the Version tab.
9. Click the Product Version in the Items name : field.

1. Find the file E100b.dos .
2. To determine if a driver update is needed, check the date of the driver file. If the date is older then 10/01/1999, then you need to update your driver.
