This package provides the DOS, Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000 Ethernet device drivers for the IBM 10/100 EtherJet Mini PCI Adapter with 56K Modem (Mini PCI Combo card).
This release supports the following systems: - ThinkPad A20m(*1), A20p(*1) - ThinkPad A21m(*1), A21p(*1), A21e(*1) - ThinkPad T20(*1), T21(*1) - ThinkPad X20(*1) - Thinkpad TransNote(*1)(*3) - ThinkPad i Series 1800(*2) - ThinkPad i Series 1620(*2) Notes: *1 With IBM 10/100 EtherJet Mini-PCI Adapter with 56K Modem option. *2 Japanese models only (Windows 2000 and Me support only). *3 Windows 98SE/Me/2000 support only
The DOS driver is included only for unattended installation purpose.
The Modem drivers are available in a separate package.
This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

II. Installation instructions
For the additional detailed information, refer the IBM 10/100 EtherJet Mini-PCI Adapter with 56K Modem User's guide.
For Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000 device driver installation or update, use the standard tools provided by the operating system (Add New Hardware, etc.) and point to the directory location containing the drivers such as follows:
Windows 98 (driver update):
- Right-click the My Computer icon.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Click the + mark on the Network Adapter.
- Double-click Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Next button.
- Specify the directory where the drivers are extracted, click the Next button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Windows Me (driver update):
- Right-click the My Computer icon.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Click the + mark on the Network Adapter.
- Double-click Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Next button.
- Specify the directory where the drivers are extracted, click the Next button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Windows NT 4.0 (driver update):
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network.
- Click the Adapters tab.
- Highlight Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI in the Network Adapters.
- Click the Update button.
- Specify the directory where the drivers are extracted, click the Continue button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen
Windows NT 4.0 APM support (driver installation) (NDIS Power Management Interface Driver): After installing the Ethernet driver for Windows NT 4.0, follow the following instructions.
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network.
- Click the Protocols tab.
- Click the Add button.
- Click the Have Disk button.
- Type the full path to the directory npmint40 beneath the directory where you extracted the drivers, click the OK button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen. For example, if you extracted the drivers into c:\Ethernet directory, you have to type the path as c:\Ethernet\npmint40.
Windows 2000 (driver update)
- Right-click the My Computer icon.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Hardware tab and select Device Manager.
- Click the + mark on Network Adapter.
- Double-click Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Next button.
- Specify the directory where the drivers are extracted, click the Next button, and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI
--------------------------
The name of the Ethernet device driver is Intel(R) PRO/100+ Mini PCI in the Device Manager and in the Network Control Panel.
DOS driver for unattended installation:
For customers who need unattended installation, the DOS driver ( E100B.DOS ) is included in DOS sub-directory in this package. Unattended installation instructions are also included in PUSH sub-directory. The DOS driver can be used only for this purpose.

The following operating systems use one of the listed NDIS device drivers.
Windows 95: E100bnt.sys or E100b.sys
Windows NT4: E100bnt.sys
Windows 98: E100bnt5.sys or E100bnt.sys
Windows 2000: E100bnt5.sys
To check the version of the device driver that is installed on your system, follow the following instructions:

Right-click the My Computer icon.

Type one of the NDIS driver names in Named : field. For example, if you are using Windows 2000, type E100bnt5.sys in the field.

Click the Find Now button.

It lists the NDIS driver(s). If it does not list the NDIS driver, the Ethernet device driver is not installed in your system.

Right-click the NDIS driver that is found in the Windows folder.

Click the Product Version in the Items name : field.

Find the file E100b.dos .
-
To determine if a driver update is needed, check the date of the driver file. If the date is older then 10/01/1999, then you need to update your driver.
