This package provides the modem drivers for the IBM 10/100 EtherJet Mini PCI Adapter with 56K Modem (Mini PCI Combo) for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT4.0
The Ethernet drivers are available in a separate package.
*This release supports the following systems: - ThinkPad A20m, A20p (*1) - ThinkPad A21m, A21p, A21e (*1) - ThinkPad A22m, A22p, A22e (*1) - ThinkPad T20, T21 (*1) - ThinkPad X20 (*1) - ThinkPad TransNote (*1) - ThinkPad i Series 1800 (*1) - ThinkPad i Series 1620 (*1) NOTES: *1: With "IBM10/100 EtherJet Mini-PCI Adapter with 56K Modem" option.
This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.
To enable the Ethernet function of the MiniPCI Combo, an another package for Ethernet driver is also required. |

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

II. Installation instructions
- Start Windows 95/98 or NT. If using Windows NT, logon with administrative privileges.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then clck Run.
- In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\SETUP.EXE to install the modem driver. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective.
III. Uninstall instructions
NOTE: Unless the modem hardware (the Mini-PCI card) is removed, Windows will detect the modem during the next startup.
- Start Windows 95/98 or NT.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Modem icon.
- Select Xircom MPCI+ Modem 56 WinGlobal.
- Click the Remove button.
- When you are asked if you want to remove the modem, click the Yes button.
- Click the Close button in the Modem Properties window.
- Windows NT users will also need to do steps 9 through 12.
- Double-click the Devices icon in the Control Panel.
- Select the Xircom MPCI+ Modem 56 WinGlobal.
- Click the Startup button.
- Select Disabled and click the OK button.
- Click the Close button in the Devices window.
- Restart the system.

Checking the date and time of these files.
- Start Windows 95/98 or NT.
- Click Start, select Find, then click Files or Folders.
- Click the Name & Location tab.
- In the Named: field, type each file name listed in the above table.
- In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:).
- Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system.
- In the Found part of the window, select the file name located in the appropriate operating system: Windows 95/98: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM, Windows NT: C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 or C:\WINNT40\SYSTEM32.
- Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the each file.
