This package provides the 3Com modem drivers for the 10/100 Ethernet Mini PCI Adapter with 56k Modem (Mini PCI Combo) for Microsoft Windows 2000.

This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
  1. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\MDMSETUP\SETUP.EXE and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location specify that location instead.
  5. Click the Next button at the Welcome dialog screen.
  6. Leave the Yes, I want to restart my computer now selection checked and click Finish at the Setup Complete dialog screen.
  7. Allow the system to reboot. If you need to install the modem card, turn off the power to the system and install the Mini-PCI Combo card.
  8. If the modem is not automatically installed, click Next in the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog.
  9. Click Next with Search for a suitable driver radio button selected.
  10. Select Specify a Location and click Next.
  11. Enter C:\winnt\options\cabs in the dialog box and click OK.
  12. Click Next at the dialog that has found the driver (c:\winnt\options\cabs\wdhaibf.inf).
  13. Click Finish. The modem is now installed.

III. Determining which version is installed
  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Phone and Modem Options icon.
  4. Select the Modems tab.
  5. Select the 3Com Mini PCI 56K Modem and click the Properties button.
  6. Select the Diagnostics tab.
  7. Click the Query Modem button.
  8. Scroll down to where the ATI7 command is displayed. The driver version will be displayed.
