Additional information

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes
version 1.00 - IZUV08US

  • (New) Support for ThinkPad X20.

version 1.01 - IZUV09US

  • (Fix) IBM MicroDrive/PCMCIA ATA Card/Compact Flash Card do not work.

version 1.02 - IZUV12US

  • (New) Support for ThinkPad X21.
  • (Fix) Fix for Windows Hardware Compatibility Test problem.

II. Installation instructions
Update install:

  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
  5. Select ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach Driver in the list.
  6. Click the Add/Remove button.
  7. Restart Windows 95/98.
  8. Continue installation by following the Clean Install procedure below.
Clean install:
  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Go to the directory in which you extracted the driver.
  4. Right mouse button click the IBMBAY2.inf file.
  5. Select install item menu on Context window menus.
  6. Restart the system.
Uninstall:
  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
  5. Click ThinkPad Ultra Base Hot-Attach Driver in the list.
  6. Click the Add/Remove button.
  7. Restart the system
III. Determining which version is installed
  1. Click the UltraBase X2 Tray Icon in Task Tray.
  2. Select About.
  3. Look at the table below to determine your driver version:
    Version listed in About panel Actual version
    IZUV08US 1.00
    IZUV09US 1.01
    IZUV12US 1.02
