This package provides the audio driver for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 users. The Audio Features enables or updates the audio function.
This release supports the following system: - ThinkPad A21e (2628,2655) - ThinkPad A22e (Celeron models only) - ThinkPad A30, A30p - ThinkPad T23 - ThinkPad X22, X23, X24
NOTE: - Service Pack 4 or greater must be installed prior to installing this driver. Click here for more information. - Your machinetype and model number can be found on the bottom of the unit next to the bar code label. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

II. Installation instructions
First time install
- Start Windows NT and logon to the system as an administrator.
- Extract the audio driver for Windows NT to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run. In the Run dialog window, type the path that you extracted the files to.
- Double-click setup.exe. The startup message appears and then disappears. A dialog box appears welcoming you to the installer.
- Click Next, a dialog box appears showing the progress as Setup copies the driver files to the startup disk. A dialog box appears telling you that the installation is complete.
- Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
- Click Finish. Your computer restarts and loads the new driver.
To update the existing audio driver
- Start Windows NT and logon to the system as an administrator.
- Extract the audio driver for Windows NT to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run. In the Run dialog window, type the path that you extracted the files to.
- Double-click setup.exe. The startup message appears and then disappears. A dialog box appears welcoming you to the installer and telling you that a driver is already installed.
- Click Next. A dialog box appears asking you whether you want to update or remove the existing driver.
- Click Update.
- Click Next. Setup marks the driver files for deletion. A dialog box appears telling you that the first half of the update is complete.
- Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
- Click Finish. A dialog box appears reminding you that Setup will automatically run again to finish the update after your computer restarts.
- Click OK. Your computer restarts and deletes the driver files that were marked for deletion. Then Setup runs automatically to install the new driver. A dialog box appears showing the progress as Setup copies the driver files to the startup disk. Another dialog box appears telling you that the second half of the update is complete.
- Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
- Click Finish. Your computer restarts and loads the new driver.
NOTE:
To automatically install these audio drivers without interruption, run setup.exe with /n option.
III. Uninstall instructions
- Start Windows NT and logon to the system as an administrator.
- Extract the audio driver for Windows NT to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run. In the Run dialog window, type the path that you extracted the files to.
- Double-click setup.exe. The startup message appears and then disappears. A dialog box appears welcoming you to the installer
- Click Next. A dialog box appears asking you whether you want to update or remove the existing driver.
- Click Remove.
- Click Next. Setup marks the driver files for deletion. Then a dialog box appears telling you that the removal is complete.
- Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
- Click Finish. Your computer restarts and deletes the driver files that were marked for deletion.
IV. Determining which version is installed
- Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders.
- Click Name & Location.
- In the Named: field, type cwantr0.sys.
- In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:).
- Click Find Now. If you do not find the file then the driver is not installed.
- Right-click the file name found in the WNT\SYSTEM32 directory. Where WNT is the drive and directory that Windows NT was installed in.
- Click Properties.
- Click Version.
