Additional information

Note: If you use the product Disk-to-disk or CD recovery option that shipped with your ThinkPad system to restore the Microsoft Windows 2000 preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows 2000 without using the product recovery option.

Installation instructions
Applying LCD Color Profile
  1. Right-click the desktop to open the Properties panel.
  2. Select the Settings button.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Select the Monitor tab.
  5. Click the Properties button.
  6. Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button, the Hardware Update Wizard appears.
  7. Select Display a list of known Drivers for this Device...
  8. Click the Have Disk button.
  9. Click the Browse button.
  10. Change the directory for \IBMTPLCD\.
  11. Select IBMTPLCD.INF, then Click the Open button and the OK button.
  12. Select the correct model of ThinkPad IPS xxxxx LCD Panel or ThinkPad xxxxx LCD Panel.
  13. Click the Finish button and the Close button.
  14. Click the Color Management tab.
  15. Click the Add button and select an icm file of IBMTPIPS or IBMTPLCD in %Root%\system32\spool\drivers\color directory.
  16. Click the Add button and click OK.

Unattended install
If you prefer unattended installation, follow process below.
  1. Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath=folder for ICC Color Profile under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt. For example, OemPnPDriversPath=DRIVERS\OTHER
  2. Create the folder with the name of folder for ICC Color Profile. For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER
  3. Put all the files within the folder created above. Files are:
    • ibmtpips.icm
    • ibmtplcd.cat
    • ibmtplcd.icm
    • ibmtplcd.inf
TI PCI 1520 CardBus controller support

For ThinkPad T30 systems
  1. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control panel.
  2. Double-click the System icon.
  3. Select the Hardware tab.
  4. Click the Device Manager button.
  5. Double-click PCMCIA adapters.
  6. Double-click Generic CardBus Controller.
  7. Select the Driver tab.
  8. Click Update Driver.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).
  11. Click Next.
  12. Select Specify a location, and specify the path of the files.
  13. Click OK.
  14. Click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
  16. Click Close.
  17. Double-click Generic CardBus Controller.
  18. Repeat step 7 through 16.

Unattended install
If you prefer unattended installation, follow process below.
  1. Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath=folder for TI PCI1520 under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt. For example, OemPnPDriversPath=DRIVERS\OTHER
  2. Create the folder with the name of folder for TI PCI1520. For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER
  3. Put all the files within the folder created above. Files are:
    • ticb2k.cat
    • ticb2k.inf

Check the date stamp of each file.

Checking the date/time of these files

  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Click Start, select Search, and then click Files or Folders .
  3. Click the Name & Location tab.
  4. In the Named: field, type the file name listed above table.
  5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:) .
  6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the driver is not installed on your system.
  7. In the Found part of the window, select the file name.
  8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the each file.
