When to use marketing part numbers and when to use service part FRU numbers
|

Marketing part numbers are used to purchase a product as an additional accessory or upgrade for your computer.
Service part FRU numbers are used to replace a defective part currently installed or attached to your computer.
You receive the replacement part only. Typically, no other materials such as manuals, cables, or software will come with the part.
