• DOS users need the following packages:
  • Utility for DOS
• When you install ThinkPad Configuration for DOS in DOS screen under Windows NT, the following package is also required.
  • ThinkPad Configuration package for Windows NT
• When you install ThinkPad Configuration for DOS in DOS screen under Windows 2000/XP, the following package is also required.
  • ThinkPad Configuration package for Windows 95/98/98 SE/Me/2000/XP

1. Start DOS.
2. Type [Program Path]\UINSTALL and press the Enter key.
3. Press the Enter key again.
4. Select Install DOS ThinkPad Configuration at the Installation Options screen; then follow the instructions on the screen.

1. Install ThinkPad Configuration Package for Windows NT, by selecting ThinkPad Configuration for DOS installation option. Refer to the installation instructions for the DOS package.

Method 2

1. Install ThinkPad Configuration for Windows NT. Refer to the installation instructions section of the package.
2. Logon to NT with a UserID of Administrator and start MS-DOS prompt from Start menu.
3. Follow the same instruction as above for DOS.
   Note: Since UINSTALL is designed for pure DOS, the installation may not be completed successfully depending on environments. Method 1 is recommended.

1. Install ThinkPad Configuration Package for Windows 95/98/98 SE/Me/2000/XP, by selecting ThinkPad Configuration for DOS installation option. Refer to the installation instructions for the DOS package.

Method 2

1. Install ThinkPad Utility Package for Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/2000. Refer to the installation instructions section of the package.
2. Logon to Windows NT with a UserID of Administrator and start MS-DOS prompt from Start menu.
3. Follow the same instruction as above for DOS.

1. Start OS/2.
2. If ThinkPad Configuration for OS/2 program is not supported for your system, you need to install System Management device driver first.
   1. Open the System Setup folder in the OS/2 System folder.
   2. Select Device Driver Install and click the Install... button.
   3. Click ThinkPad System Management Device Driver. Then click OK.
3. Open an OS/2 prompt.
4. Type [Program Path]\INSTUTD2 and press the Enter key.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

1. Open a DOS screen.
2. Execute the command PS2.EXE ?. The version will be displayed next to Utility for DOS on the second line.
