Before you begin

1. Turn the machine off.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
3. Remove the main battery.

To remove the CMOS battery:

1. With the machine off turn the machine over.
2. Loosen the captive screw on the memory compartment cover and lift the cover off.
3. Lift the battery out of its holder and disconnect the cable.
