Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.00 (or higher).
  • (Fix) (Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0) A resume password prompt is overridden by the Windows Desktop when the system goes into suspend mode and then resumes normal operation by timer or incoming call.
  • (Fix) (Windows 98) A resume password prompt on the external display screen is corrupted when the system resumes normal operation from standby mode.

Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.00 (or higher).
  • (Fix) (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98) After the system resumed normal operation from standby mode with the LCD panel closed, the LCD has a blank screen when the LCD panel is opened.
  • (Fix) The boot order of 'Network' device in the Startup menu of the BIOS Setup Utility automatically becomes last after the BIOS update.
  • (Fix) (DOS) Usable memory size for DOS programs become about 40 KB smaller when the system is booted with a USB CD-ROM drive.
  • (Fix) (DOS) Read and write performance of USB diskette drive will be slow when a DOS memory manager like as EMM386 is installed.

Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.00 (or higher).
  • (New) Enhancement on password security function.
  • (Fix) (Windows XP and Windows 2000) If the system resumes normal operation from suspend mode by starting a program with Scheduled Tasks utility, the ThinkPad system may set the wrong date and time.
  • (Fix) (Windows 2000 and Windows 98) Disablement of the SpeedStep function does not work correctly.
  • (Fix) (DOS) When the keyboard state is set to "SysRq". Some Alt key combinations will be ignored.
  • (Fix) (Windows XP and Windows 2000) If beeps for "Lid closed action" is enabled, beeps may sound continuously if the LCD panel is closed while Windows is booted up.

Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.00 (or higher).
  • (New) Enhancement on password security function.
  • (New) Compatibility enhancement with SMBIOS access programs.
  • (New) Function to disable the option ROM of internal Ethernet adapter card, in order to expand usable memory area by DOS. (This can be done by disabling the Internal Network Option ROM option under Config and Network in the BIOS Setup Utility.)
  • (Fix) (Windows 98) Resume error message may be displayed when the system resumes normal operation from hibernation mode if a USB memory key device is hot-attached/detached to/from the system.
  • (Fix) (Windows 2000 and Windows XP) The battery remaining percent (hour) becomes shorter than expected in hibernation mode when the AC adapter is detached.
  • (Fix) (Windows 2000 and Windows XP) The LCD screen may blink twice when the LCD is closed then opened.

Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.00 (or higher).
  • (Fix) (Windows XP) Some multi-function type of CardBus cards may not work after resuming normal operation from standby mode.
  • (Fix) The boot order of network devices under Startup and Network in the BIOS Setup Utility becomes changed from default if the F9 key to load default configuration is pressed twice.
  • (Fix) (Windows XP and Windows 2000) If the computer is attached to an UltraBase X3 or Docking Station option and when the second hard disk drive with the hard disk password installed is hot- attached to the option while the system is running, a hard disk password prompt for the second hard disk does not appear after the system is restarted.
  • (Fix) (Windows XP and Windows 2000) If the LCD panel is closed immediately after Fn + F12 keys to go into the hibernation mode are pressed, the LCD screen may remain turned off after the LCD panel is opened.
  • (Fix) The system may hang during system boot or may not be booted from the USB diskette drive if both a USB mouse and a USB diskette drive are attached to the computer.

Note: This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 1.03 (or higher).
  • (Fix) (Windows XP and Windows 2000) The system may resume normal operation from standby mode when the LCD panel is opened even though "Do nothing" for When the LCD is closed is selected in the Power Options.
  • (Fix) (Windows XP) The system may not resume normal operation from standby mode when all of the following conditions are met:
    • The computer is attached to a Docking Station with a network PC Card inserted and is connected to the network.
    • In the power management properties of the network PC Card, "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" option is enabled, and the computer is configured to resume normal operation from standby mode through the network.

    Note: You can enable this feature by going to the Power Management properties of your network PC Card device under Network Adapter device in the Device Manger, and checking "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" option.
