Secure Digital Card support with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad X40, X60
|
 |
 |
Note: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 includes all necessary support files for this device. If the system is initially setup with Service Pack 2, or is later updated to Service Pack 2, this device will be correctly identified and installed. If Service Pack 2 is installed, there are no additional steps required to support the Secure Digital (SD) card slot.
If the preload is not to be used, it is recommended that the entire contents of C:\IBMTOOLS be copied from the original preload onto the custom image to ensure all available hot fixes, initial driver support, etc. are available on the image being implemented. If the original preload has been deleted, it should be restored in order to obtain this software.
After installing a retail version of Microsoft Windows 2000/XP workstation onto the ThinkPad system, there is no support for the Secure Digital (SD) card slot.
The following ThinkPad systems loaded with a retail version of Windows 2000/XP may experience this symptom:
- ThinkPad X40
- ThinkPad X60
The necessary driver support is located on the original preload of Windows XP shipped on the ThinkPad system within the C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\SDIO directory.
