Effective March 31, 2004, IBM is no longer licensed to distribute new PCs with Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional. Microsoft Corporation has announced an end of the distribution agreement that allows IBM to deliver recovery CDs for this operating system to end users who have purchased a new PC with this operating system prior to March 31, 2004. IBM has acquired Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional product recovery CDs and will distribute them while product is available, until 07/31/2005. IBM will continue to provide information regarding system compatibility requirements which may be necessary for upgrading legacy operating systems.
