Access IBM online User's Guide for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad G41

This package provides the software support for the IBM Access ThinkPad Online User Guide.

This release supports the following IBM system:
- ThinkPad G41

Supported Operating Systems:
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Microsoft Windows XP

Note: This is the same software shipped with the system and does not provide enhancements or updates to the existing software.
Downloadable tools are also available for enterprise customers so that they can customize Access IBM by adding content for their company's specific needs.

I. Summary of changes

  • (Fix) ThinkPad Software Installer pops up a reboot dialog box even before the installation of Access IBM is finished.

II. Installation instructions
Install
  1. Start Windows 2000 or XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard drive.
  3. Click Start, and select Run...
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AIBM\SETUP.EXE, and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Silent install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.

In step 4 above type, C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AIBM\SETUP.EXE /s /w /v"/qn" and click OK.

Uninstall
  1. Start Windows 2000 or XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. If you are using Windows XP, click Start and click Control Panel.
    If you are using Windows 2000, click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. Select Access IBM.
  5. Click the Remove button.
  6. Restart the system.

III. Determining which version is installed
  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Program icon.
  3. Select Access IBM.
  4. Click the Click here for support information link. You will see the version information on the screen.
