If your hands are dry this may affect the responsiveness of the reader.
Note: Dry hands can lead to the reader not being able to detect a swipe. Additionally, excessive oils can lead to the "slow down" message even when you're swiping at a slow speed.
Several steps can be performed to resolve this problem.
- Ensure your finger is at the same angle as it was during enrollment. Even moderate changes in finger angle during swipe can cause the "Match failed" error.
- Delete and recreate fingerprints.
- Run the Diagnostic in PC Doctor.
- Uninstall and reinstall software.
- In the Fingerprint section of the Fingerprint software Control Center, complete the Enable Power on Security section.
- Shutdown the system. On the first reboot you will be asked for your password and fingerprints. The second time you reboot it will only require your fingerprint.
Note: If you have enrolled more than one finger, the first time you use that finger to replace the Power on Password Security you will also be asked for your password.
Note: If the Client Security Software is installed, this option must be set through the Administrator Console in the Windows Control Panel.
