Power Manager for Windows 2000, XP - ThinkPad

This package enables or updates the following utility program for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP users:
- Power Manager

Note:
*1 Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 is supported.

Summary of changes

Version 1.40

  • (New) Support for ThinkPad SL400, SL500.
  • (New) Updated predefined power scheme.
  • (New) Added new feature of 'Dynamic Brightness Control'.
  • (New) Added new feature of 'Decrease video color quality' in Battery Stretch.

Installation instructions
  1. Start Windows XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\W2K\PWRMGR.
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK.
    Example: C:\DRIVERS\W2K\PWRMGR\SETUP.EXE.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Silent Installation Guide (for Unattended Installation support)
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.

When you type [Program Path]\SETUP in the above installation guide, add -S -SMS parameter to SETUP. (You need to type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\PWRMGR\SETUP.EXE -S -SMS in Run.)

Uninstallation
  1. Start Windows Windows XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Click ThinkPad Power Manager driver, then click the Add/Remove... button.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Determining which version is installed
  1. Click Start, select All Programs, select ThinkVantage, then select Power Manager.
  2. Click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click ThinkPad Power Manager driver, then click Click here for support information to display the version information.
