Determining which version is installed

Version 2.11

Note:

• If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
• Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommended. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

[Downloading files]

1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
4. Choose the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.

[Extracting files]

1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
2. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
3. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5. In the Select Destination Location window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
6. In the Ready to Install window, click Install. The file will begin to extract all the necessary files to the folder specified in the step 5.

[Installing files]

1. Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is selected and click Finish.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.

Note:
This is for system administrators' use only.

1. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the files.
2. In the step 1 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
3. At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -s -SMS options. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup -s -SMS
   

[Windows Vista]

1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel. For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Select Uninstall a program.
4. Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility, then click the Uninstall button.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to restart the computer.

[Windows XP]

1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
   For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
4. Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility, then click Change/Remove.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to restart the computer.
   

[Windows Vista]

1. Start Windows Vista.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
   For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Click Programs and Features.
4. Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility from the list of installed programs. The version of the ThinkPad UltraNav Utility will be displayed as Product version.
5. If the details of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility does not appear, click the Organize button.
6. Click Layout, then click Details Pane.
7. Check the details of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility on the bottom part of the window.

[Windows XP]

1. Start Windows XP.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
   For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Click Add or Remove Programs.
4. Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility from the list of installed programs.
5. Click Click here for support information. A window will be displayed containing the version number of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility.
