Note:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
- Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommended. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading files]
- Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
- Choose the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting files]
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
- Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the Select Destination Location window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
- In the Ready to Install window, click Install. The file will begin to extract all the necessary files to the folder specified in the step 5.
[Installing files]
- Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is selected and click Finish.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.
Note:
This is for system administrators' use only.
- Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the files.
- In the step 1 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
- At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -s -SMS options. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup -s -SMS
[Windows Vista]
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel. For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Select Uninstall a program.
- Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility, then click the Uninstall button.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to restart the computer.
[Windows XP]
- Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
- Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility, then click Change/Remove.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to restart the computer.
[Windows Vista]
- Start Windows Vista.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Click Programs and Features.
- Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility from the list of installed programs. The version of the ThinkPad UltraNav Utility will be displayed as Product version.
- If the details of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility does not appear, click the Organize button.
- Click Layout, then click Details Pane.
- Check the details of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility on the bottom part of the window.
[Windows XP]
- Start Windows XP.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Click Add or Remove Programs.
- Select ThinkPad UltraNav Utility from the list of installed programs.
- Click Click here for support information. A window will be displayed containing the version number of ThinkPad UltraNav Utility.
