This is a necessary program for ThinkPad and 3000 systems. This program is used by many other programs. This package provides the following utility program for Microsoft Windows Vista and XP users:

- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\SMIIF.
- Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
- Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\SMIIF\SETUP.EXE
Note: For unattended install, specify SETUP.EXE /S with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\SMIIF\SETUP.EXE /S
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, click Control Panel, then click Programs.
- Under Programs and Features, click Uninstall a program.
- Right-click Lenovo System Interface Driver and select Uninstall.
- Click Continue.
- Once the package has been extracted, double-click Setup.exe.
- Select View driver or application version information.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
