This package installs Help Center software for ThinkPad.

Notes:
- If Access IBM has been installed, it is required to uninstall Access IBM before installing Help Center.
- It requires ThinkVantage Productivity Center version 2.00 or later to work with ThinkVantage Productivity Center.
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Note: After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.
- Start Windows Vista/XP/2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
- Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ALRN.
- Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
- Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ALRN\SETUP.EXE
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
- Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files.
- At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -S -SMS options.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ALRN\SETUP -S -SMS
[Windows Vista]
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Click Uninstall a program. You will see Uninstall or change a program window.
- Click Help Center, then click Uninstall/Change.
- Click Continue on User Account Control.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and then reboot the computer.
[Windows XP]
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Help Center, then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).
- Select Remove or OK, then click Next or OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and then reboot the computer.
[Windows 2000]
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Help Center, then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).
- Select Remove or OK, then click Next or OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and then reboot the computer.
[Windows Vista]
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Click Uninstall a program. You will see Uninstall or change a program window.
- Select Help Center
- Click Organize, click Layout, then select Details Pane (Details Pane might be already selected)
You will see the version information on the pane below.
- Close the Uninstall or change a program window.
[Windows XP]
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Help Center, then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).
- Click Click here for support information link.
You will see the version information on the screen.
- Close Add/Remove Programs.
[Windows 2000]
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Help Center, then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).
- Click Click here for support information link.
You will see the version information on the screen.
- Close Add/Remove Programs.
