This package provides the Ethernet driver for Microsoft Windows Vista. The Ethernet driver enables or updates the Ethernet functions on the following ThinkPad systems.
This release supports the following systems:
- ThinkPad R50, R50e, R50p, R51
- ThinkPad T41, T41p, T42, T42p
- ThinkPad T60, T60p
- ThinkPad X31, X32
- ThinkPad X40
- ThinkPad X60, X60s, X60 Tablet
Note:This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

To update the driver, follow the instructions below:
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Click System and Maintenance, then click System.
- Click Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters category.
- Right-click Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection or Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection, then select Update Driver Software...
- Click Browse my computer for driver software.
- Click Browse..., then select one of the following driver locations:
For Windows Vista 32-bit, the default location is C:\Drivers\VISTA\ETHERNET\PRO1000\Win32
For Windows Vista 64-bit, the default location is C:\Drivers\VISTA\ETHERNET\PRO1000\WINX64
- Select Include subfolders, then click Next.
- Click Close when the installation has completed.
Intel PROSet for Windows Device Manager is an extension to the Windows Device Manager. When you install the Intel PROSet software, additional tabs are automatically added to Device Manager.
Note: It is necessary to have administrator rights to install or use Intel PROSet for Windows Device Manager.
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
- Specify DxSetup.exe with the full path name where you extracted the package and click OK.
Example: C:\Drivers\VISTA\ETHERNET\APPS\PROSETDX\Vista32\DxSetup.exe (Windows Vista 32-bit)
Example: C:\Drivers\VISTA\ETHERNET\APPS\PROSETDX\Vistax64\DxSetup.exe (Windows Vista 64-bit)
- Click Next.
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, then click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish.

To check the version of the device driver that is installed on your system, use the following instructions:
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Click System and Maintenance, then click System.
- Click Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters category.
- Double-click Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection or Intel PRO/1000 PL Network Connection.
- Click the Driver tab and the driver version will be displayed.
