ThinkPad SD storage and standard host controller bus driver - ThinkPad

This package provides the following software for Microsoft Windows XP SP1and Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4:

- SD (Secure Digital) standard host controller bus driver
- SD (Secure Digital) storage driver

This release supports the following systems:

- ThinkPad R61**, R61i**
- ThinkPad T61, T61p
- ThinkPad X40, X41
- ThinkPad X60, X60s, X61, X61s
- ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t
- ThinkPad Reserve Edition

Note:
- If you use the Product Recovery function shipped with your ThinkPad to restore the Windows preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows XP SP1 or Windows 2000 SP4 without the Product Recovery function.

Installation instructions
Perform the following steps to install the SD (Secure Digital) standard host controller bus driver:

Windows XP SP1:

  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package onto your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\Drivers\SDIO
  3. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  4. Cick Add Hardware.
  5. Click Next, then select Yes, I have already connected the hardware, then click Next.
  6. Select PCI Device, then click Next, then click Finish.
  7. From the Hardware Update Wizard, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), then click Next.
  8. Select Search for the best driver in these locations.
  9. Check Include this location in the search, input the location, then click Next.
    Example: C:\Drivers\SDIO
  10. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Windows 2000 SP4:

  1. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Add/Remove Hardware.
  4. Click Next, then select Add/Troubleshoot a device, then click Next.
  5. Select PCI Device, then click Next, then click Finish.
  6. From the Device Driver Wizard, select Search for a suitable driver for my device, then click Next.
  7. Check Specify a location, then click Next.
  8. Imput the location of the files, then click OK.
    Example: C:\Drivers\SDIO
  9. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Perform the following steps to install the SD (Seure Digital) storage driver:

  1. Insert a Secure Digital storage device in the SD card slot.
  2. From the New Hardware Wizard, follow the instructions to install the files from the location specified above.
