Symptoms

Lenovo has released a new system BIOS update to address an issue with the Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset (as reported in the Intel 965 Express Chipset Specification Update). Lenovo is providing this BIOS update to eliminate a potential source of unexpected system behavior or memory error within the Lenovo notebook products below. In order to ensure the long term reliability of your Lenovo notebook computer, it is highly recommended that all users update their system with this new BIOS.

Affected Configurations

Any of the following systems running Windows Vista, XP or 2000 maybe affected by this symptom:

  • ThinkPad Reserve Edition
  • ThinkPad R61, R61e, R61i
  • ThinkPad T61, T61p
  • ThinkPad X300
  • ThinkPad X61, X61s
  • ThinkPad X61 Tablet
  • Lenovo 3000 N200
  • Lenovo 3000 V200
  • Lenovo 3000 Y310
  • Lenovo 3000 Y410
  • IdeaPad Y510
  • IdeaPad Y710
Solution

The BIOS images below contain a critical microcode update to improve system reliability. Lenovo highly recommends that you apply the applicable system BIOS update from the below list.
