Notes: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Manual Install
- Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
- Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM.
- Click Start, then click Run...
- Specify 2ksetup.exe with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM\2KSETUP.EXE
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.

- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Click Performance and Maintenance, then click System.
- Click Hardware, then click Device Manager.
- Click the + sign in front of the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category.
- Double-click "Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller".
- Click the 'Driver' tab. Then you will see the Driver Version.
