Ethernet driver (Intel PRO/1000 LAN adapter software) for Windows Vista - ThinkPad R400, T400, T400s, T500, W500, W700, W700ds, X200, X200s, X200 Tablet and X301

This package installs the software (Ethernet driver) to enable the following devices for Gigabit Ethernet support.
- Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection
- Intel 82567LF Gigabit Network Connection

Supported ThinkPad systems:
- R400
- T400, T400s, T500
- W500, W700, W700ds
- X200, X200s, X200 Tablet, X301

Supported Operating Systems:
- Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit, 64-bit

Note:
- If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

Notes

If the computer resumes normal operation immediately after from going into standby/sleep state or does not go into standby/sleep state when the lid is closed, change the following setting in the Device Manager.

  1. Click Start.
  2. Right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
  3. At the left pane, click Device Manager.
  4. Double-click the Network adapters category.
  5. Double-click either of the following devices.
    • Intel® 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection
    • Intel® 82567LF Gigabit Network Connection.
  6. Click the Advanced tab.
  7. Select Wake on Settings in Property.
  8. Change the value to "OS Controlled" from "Wake on Magic & Directed".
  9. Click OK.

 

Installation Instructions
Notes:
  • If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Manual Install

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

[Downloading files]

  1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
  4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.

[Extracting files]

  1. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
  2. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in this step.

[Installing files]

  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Locate the folder where the files were extracted in the step 7.
  3. [Windows Vista 32-bit]
    Move to APPS, SETUP, SETUPBD, and then Vista32 folder.
    [Windows Vista 64-bit]
    Move to APPS, SETUP, SETUPBD, and then Vistax64 folder.
  4. Double-click SetupBD.exe file.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.

Finally delete the file saved in Step 4.

 

Unattended Install
Note: This is intended for system administrators only.
  • For unattended installation, Ethernet driver for DOS (e1000.dos) is prepared. Obtain the additional package, Intel PRO/1000 LAN Adapter Software for DOS to use the Ethernet drivers for DOS.
  • The information about unattended installation instructions are included in the following folders in this package;
    Windows Vista 32-bit:
    [Path where the files were extracted]\APPS\SETUP\PUSH\Vista32
    Windows Vista 64-bit:
    [Path where the files were extracted]\APPS\SETUP\PUSH\Vistax64

 

Determining which version is installed

To check the version of the device driver that is installed on your system, use the following instructions:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
  3. At the left pane, click Device Manager.
  4. Double-click the Network adapters category.
  5. Double-click one of the following devices:
    • Intel® 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection
    • Intel® 82567LF Gigabit Network Connection.
  6. Click the Driver tab.
  7. Check Driver Version.
