OS/2 Warp Version 4 comes with three diskettes for installation. These update disks are replacements for Disk 1 and Disk 2.
- Install OS/2 Warp Version 4 from the original Install Disk.
- When you are prompted to insert Disk 1, use Install Disk1 Update.
- When you are prompted to insert Disk 2, use Install Disk2 Update.
- Continue installing OS/2 Warp Version 4 until you are prompted to restart your computer for the first time.
- When you are prompted to restart your computer, do not proceed.
- Press F3 to go to the command prompt screen.
- At the command prompt screen, type the following command to run the batch file. The batch file is available on Install Disk2 update. A:\FIXVGA.CMD x: where, x: denotes the boot drive of OS/2 Warp Version 4. In other words, the drive letter to which you are installing OS/2 Warp Version 4.
- Type EXIT and press the Enter key to go back to the previous screen.
- Remove the diskette from the floppy drive.
- Press the Enter key to restart your computer.
- Continue installing OS/2 Warp Version 4.
- When you complete the installation, open OS/2 command prompt screen.
- Insert 'Install Disk2 Update' in the floppy drive.
- At the command prompt screen, type the following command to run the batch file. A:\FIXVGA.CMD x: where, x: denotes the boot drive of OS/2 Warp Version 4.

- Type EXIT, then press the Enter key to close the command prompt screen.
- Properly shutdown OS/2 Warp Version 4, and restart your computer.
- Proceed to install OS/2 Warp Version 4 FixPak and device drivers.
Notes:
- When you install any versions of OS/2 Warp Version 4 Base FixPak and OS/2 Warp Base Device Driver FixPak at version XR_D001, you may be prompted whether you want to replace IBM1S506.ADD module or not. Then choose No to not replace IBM1S506.ADD module or your computer will not be able to identify the IDE controller in ThinkPad Dock. If you accidentally choose Yes and the module is replaced, then copy IBM1S506.ADD module from the 'Install Disk1 Update' to \OS2\BOOT directory of your computer after you complete the FixPak installation.
- It is strongly recommended to run FIXVGA.CMD batch file whenever you change display driver to "VGA" or "VGAGRADD" if your model of ThinkPad computer is ThinkPad T21 SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution model or ThinkPad T22 SXGA+ resolution model.
