Video driver IV for OS/2 - ThinkPad 770
Applicable countries and regions
The Video Features Diskette IV for OS/2 provides drivers to:
- Improve the drawing performance on the display,
- Provide a resolution up to 1600x1200 for a CRT monitor,
- Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, and 16M for a CRT monitor.

The following models are supported:
- ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z

Note: If you are installing the Video Features IV version 1.04 or later for OS/2 to the ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, you need to update the system BIOS to version 1.27 or later. Otherwise you can not select any screen resolutions from the OS/2 System Setting even after the display driver installation.

Note: If you are installing the Video Features IV version 1.04 or later for OS/2 to the ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, you need to update the system BIOS to version 1.27 or later. Click here for the latest BIOS. Otherwise you can not select any screen resolutions from the OS/2 System Setting even after the display driver installation.

Installation instructions
If you are reinstalling the display driver, do the following procedure to set the system back to VGA mode. If the system is already in VGA mode, skip to the <installation> section.

VGA
  1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
  2. When a small white box appears in the upper left corner of the screen, press Alt+F1.
  3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears:
    • In Warp Version 3: press V.
    • In Warp Version 4: press F3.
  4. Shut down OS/2 after the VGA driver is installed.
  5. Turn off the computer.
Installation
  1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
  2. Set the display device to LCD only.
  3. Open an OS/2 window or a full-screen command prompt.
  4. Insert the OS/2 Video driver diskette into the floppy drive.
  5. Type A: and press enter to switch to the floppy drive.
  6. Type INSTALL and press enter.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  8. After the installation is complete, remove the diskette, shut down OS/2, and restart the computer.

- (Fix) Corrupted list box menu in Microsoft Word 6.0 in a WIN-OS/2 session.

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 770Z.
- (Fix) The Installation fails if there are 512 characters or more in a line of the CONFIG.SYS file.
- (Fix) WINOS/2 font files remain at the root directory of the boot drive as excess files after the installation.
 
Version 1.05
- (Fix) The VisualAge C++ window has garbage with 256 colors.
