I. Summary of changes version 5.62 : V1.0 R01-G8
A BIOS version number up for customers' tracking purposes.
(New) Support for Windows XP (added).
Note: A fix was made to the previous version of this file (version V1.0 R01-G7) in October 2000 to incorporate a new a battery- saving feature. Because this fix affected a different area of code than the BIOS, the BIOS version number did not change at that time.
Since this proved difficult to track, version (V1.0 R01-G8) has been released so users can be sure they have the battery saving update from <5.61 : V1.0 R01-G7> installed. No other BIOS functionality change was done in this version. Users who have not updated their BIOS with <5.61 : V1.0 R01-G7> should update to this new BIOS. Click here for a complete list of changes fixed by this BIOS update.
