I. Summary of changes

- (Fix) Low microphone input gain.
Because the driver vendor changed the driver version number convention, the newer release version (4.03.00.5033) looks older than the previous release (4.05.15). However, the version 4.03.00.5033 is the latest one.

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: You need to shutdown the system and once power OFF the system after the installation is complete, in order to let the installation be effective.

1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Extract the package to the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, then click Run.
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE and click OK.
5. Follow the SETUP steps and click Next.
6. Choose Uninstall Drivers and click Next.
7. Restart the system and logon with administrative privileges.
8. Click Start, then click Run.
9. Type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE and click OK.
10. Follow the SETUP steps and click Next.
11. Choose Install and click Next.
12. Choose No, I will restart my computer later and click Finish. It is necessary to shutdown and power OFF the system for the installation to be effective.
13. Click Start, then click Shut Down.
14. Choose Shut down the computer? and click YES.
15. Power off the system then power on the system to start Windows NT.
    

Unattended Installation: Use SETUP.EXE /S command at step 4.

III. Uninstalling the driver

1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Extract the package to the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, then click Run.
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE and click OK.
5. Follow the SETUP steps and click Next.
6. Choose Uninstall Drivers and click Next.
7. Restart the system.

IV. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows NT.
2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Double click the Multimedia icon.
4. Click the Devices tab.
5. Expand the Audio Devices section by double clicking.
6. Right click Audio for ESS Audio Driver ES1938/1946 and select Properties.
7. Then it will show the version number.
