Modem driver for Windows 95/98 - ThinkPad 390, 172x

The Lucent Modem driver Package enables or updates the Lucent Modem driver program of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad 390
- ThinkPad i Series 1720, i Series 1721

Additional information

Note: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, and Microsoft Windows NT. The extraction process will NOT work with any other operating system.

Installation instructions

  1. Start Windows 95/98.
  2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start and then click Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\MODEM\SETUP.BAT in the Open box, then click OK.
  5. Click Next to continue with the setup program.
    Note: There may appear to be a slight delay during the "Installing Modem" phase. Wait at least 60 seconds before trying anything on the system.
  6. Click Finish. Note: It may take the system a few moments to close the window and restart the system.
  7. Shutdown and restart the computer.

If the modem does not work

  1. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Open System and then click Device Manager.
  3. If there is any LT Win Modem with exclamation mark, select it and click Remove.
  4. Click Close in the Properties dialog box.
  5. Shutdown and restart the computer.

National Language Support
Only some drivers will be available in other languages. If you do not see a listing like this for additional languages, then that driver is available in English only. The English driver will work in ALL countries. This driver is available in the following language format.
Note: If the version numbers below do not match the version number given above, then the updated driver listed above is available in ENGLISH only.
