If the DIMM is already in the memory slot, remove it to replace the new one by pressing out on the latches on both edges of the socket at the same time. Be sure to save it for future use.
use the latches to remove the memory.
  5. Find the notch on the side of the DIMM you are installing. Note: To avoid damaging the DIMM, do not touch its contact edge.
  6. With the notched end of the DIMM toward the side of the socket, insert the DIMM, at an angle of about 20 degrees, into the socket (1); then press it firmly (2).
install the new memory at 20 degree angle.
  7. Pivot the DIMM until it snaps into place. Make sure that the card is firmly fixed in the slot and cannot be moved easily.
  8. Replace the memory slot cover over the memory slot, aligning the back side of the cover first; then tighten the screws.
  9. Put the battery back in place and turn the computer over again.

To make sure that the DIMM is installed correctly, do as follows:

  1. Power on the system.
  2. While the Press F1 for BIOS Setup Utility message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The BIOS Setup Utility screen appears. The Installed memory item shows the total amount of memory installed in your computer. The system allocates a portion of installed memory, approximately 8 MB, for video. For example, if you install a 64MB DIMM into a computer whose base memory is 64 MB, the quantity shown in "Installed memory" should be 120 MB.
