II. Installation instructions
Windows 98

1. Start Windows 98.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
4. Double-click System.
5. Click the Device Manager tab.
6. Expand the Network adapters section.
7. Click Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection to select it.
8. Click Properties.
9. Click the Driver tab.
10. Click Update Driver.
11. Click Next in the Update Device Driver Wizard window.
12. Select Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now.(Recommended).
13. Click Next.
14. Select Specify a location: only.
15. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\ETHERNET in the Specify a location: field.
16. Click Next.
17. Click Next . The driver installation starts.
18. Click Finish when the installation completes.
19. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

Windows Me

1. Start Windows Me.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows 98/Me.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the System icon.
4. Click the Device Manager tab.
5. Expand the Network adapters section.
6. Double-click the Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection.
7. Click the Driver tab.
8. Click the Driver File details button.
9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\E100BNT5.SYS. The file has the File version number embedded.
