Processor removal and installation - NetVista 2292, 6343, 6349, 6350, 6790, 6791, 6792, 6793, 6794, 6795, 6823, 6825

Microprocessor installation
To install a microprocessor on the 2292, 6343, 6349, 6350, 6790, 6791, 6792, 6793, 6794, 6795, 6823, and 6825 machine types, do the following:
- Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables and power cords; then, remove the cover. For more information click Cover removal for the small desktop, Cover removal for the desktop, and Cover removal for the microtower.
- Remove the system boards. For more information click System board for small desktops, System board for desktops, and System board for microtowers.
- Lossen the two captured screws that hold the fansink in place, and pivot them off of the fansink notches.
- To remove the fansink from the processor, twist the fansink to break the seal formed by the thermal grease and remove.
Note: If the thermal grease seal cannot be broken, you may want to start up the syststem to heat the processor and loosen the thermal grease.
- Pull out and lift up the processor socket lever arm upward to its maximum vertical position to release the processor.
- Lift the processor out of the system board.
Note: When you install the new processor, make sure to reinstall the fansink to insure proper cooling.
