Note: Some variations in the diagrams exist since these instructions apply to the 802.11b wireless LAN/modem combo card, the 802.11b wireless LAN card, the 802.11abg wireless LAN card, and the 802.11ab wireless LAN card.
Remove the battery and the keyboard
Remove the shield from the Mini PCI card. Note: Some systems require the removal of a screw prior to removing the shield.
Pull the levers away from the card illustrated at points 2. Then lift the Mini PCI card out of the slot in the direction of point 3.
Unplug the cables attached to the Mini PCI card. Antenna cables. Note: When unplugging the antenna jack, do not pull the cable; it might snap. Unplug the jack by pulling a tab with your fingers.
Cables marked MAIN (4a) and marked AUX (4b) are for the wireless LAN feature
Connector (5) is for the modem feature (only on the LAN/Modem combo cards)
Installing the Mini PCI card
Connect all the cables to the Mini PCI card.
The modem cable plugs into point 5 connector (only on the LAN/Modem combo cards)
The gray antenna cable marked MAIN (4a) plugs into jack J1
The black antenna cable with the tab marked AUX (4b) into jack J2.
With the notched end of the card toward the socket, insert the card into the socket, and then press it firmly.
Pivot the card until it snaps into place. Make sure that the card is firmly fixed in the slot and does not move easily.
When attaching the Mini PCI card, route the antenna cables to go under the cable guide as shown at point (a), and place the tabs as indicated by the arrow at point (b).
