1. Turn the machine off.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
3. Remove the main battery.

Text of the audio portion of the Mini PCI removal and installation movie

This ThinkPad contains the new Mini PCI card slot. This slot may be empty or contain a V.90 modem card, combination modem ethernet card or other available cards depending on the model.
A Mini PCI modem is installed.

To remove the Mini PCI card:

1. Loosen the captive screw and remove the cover.
2. Release the latches.
3. Disconnect the cable and lift the card out of the slot.

NOTE: Both a modem and ethernet cable come standard in all models

To install the Mini PCI card:

1. Insert the card into the connector at an angle.
2. Connect the cable and pivot the card until it snaps into position.
3. Install the access panel and tighten the captive screw.
