BIOS Update II (Diskette) - ThinkPad 1400, 1500 (2611)

The BIOS Update enhances certain ThinkPad systems to address operational issues, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
This release supports the following system - ThinkPad i Series 1400 - Only the following 1400 Model-Type numbers are supported: 2611 - 40x, 412, 452, 456, 47x, 49x, (43x''s except 434, 435) - ThinkPad i Series 1500 - Only the following 1500 Model-Type numbers are supported: 2611 - 512, 552, RR8, RR9
NOTE: - Your machine type is located on the bottom of your system, just above the bar code symbol. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes
version 1.13 - R01-A4E
- (New) Power Management Update - enhancement of CPU thermal control design.

II. Installation instructions
NOTES:
- You need an AC adapter and a charged battery pack to update the system program.
- Print these instructions or display them on another computer.
- Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer.
- Insert the System Program Service Diskette into the diskette drive and turn on the computer.
- When prompted press the '1' key to update the system program.
Warning: Do not turn off the computer until the update has been completed. IF YOU TURN OFF THE COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
After the BIOS update, perform these steps to make the changes effective:
- Turn on your computer, and then press and hold the F1 key until the BIOS Utility menu appears.
- If the computer presents a password prompt type in the correct password.
- Select Load Default Settings and then press Enter.
- Select Yes and then press Enter.
- Press Esc, then select Yes. Press Enter to restart computer.

The BIOS information can be viewed by selecting System Information in the BIOS Utility menu:
- Power on the system.
- When the message Press F1 for IBM BIOS setup Utility appears at the bottom right hand corner, press the F1 key. Wait for the BIOS Utility screen to appears.
- Select System Information. BIOS version is displayed at System BIOS Version line.
