Configuration utility for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP - ThinkPad 240/X/Z

This package provides the following utility programs for Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP users.

- ThinkPad Configuration program (Setup program)

Note:
Under Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or higher must be installed.

This package enables or updates the utility programs of the following ThinkPad computer:

I. Summary of changes
Version 2.07

II. Installation instructions
Notes:

Install

  1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP.
  2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\UTILITY\SETUP and click OK. Or specify the installation program SETUP.EXE with full path you extracted in the step 2 and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Uninstall
For Windows 95/98/Me/2000 users

  1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000/.
  2. Right-click ThinkPad Configuration in the Tray.
  3. Click the Disable Tray icon.
  4. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  5. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  6. Select ThinkPad Configuration from the list, then click the Add/Remove button.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

For Windows XP users

  1. Start Windows XP.
  2. Right-click ThinkPad Configuration in the Tray.
  3. Click Disable Tray icon.
  4. Click Start, then Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs.
  5. Select ThinkPad Configuration from the list, then click the Change/Remove button.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

III. Determining which version is installed
Windows 95/98/Me

  1. Start Windows 95/98/Me
  2. Click Start, point to Find or Search, then click Files or Folders.
  3. Click the Name & Location tab.
  4. In the Named: field, type TP98.EXE and select My Computer in the Look in: field.
  5. Click Find Now. The computer will search for the file in your system. If the file is not found, the program is not installed on your system.
  6. Double-click the found file.
  7. Click Help in the menu and click About. The version will be displayed.

Windows 2000

  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Click Start, point to Search, then click Files or Folders.
  3. Click the Name & Location tab.
  4. Type TP98.EXE in the Search for files or folders Named: field. And select My Computer in the Look in: field.
  5. Click Search Now. The computer will search for the file in your system. If the file is not found, the program is not installed on your system.
  6. Double-click the found file.
  7. Click Help in the menu bar and click About. The version will be displayed.

Windows XP users

  1. Start Windows XP.
  2. Click Start, then Search, then click All Files or Folders.
  3. Type TP98.EXE in All or part of the file name: field. And select My Computer in the Look in: field.
  4. Click Search Now. The computer will search for the file in your system. If the file is not found, the program is not installed on your system.
  5. Double-click the found file.
  6. Click Help in the menu bar and click About. The version will be displayed.
