Audio driver for Windows 95/98 - ThinkPad 240

This package provides the audio driver for Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows 98 users.
The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computer:

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 240 3xx model.
- (Fix) No sound and screen are available when AVI file is played back with the MediaPlayer, the system enters standby mode (by Fn+F3 keys) and then resumes normal operation.
- (Fix) No sound is available when WAV file is played back with the MediaPlayer, the system enters standby mode (by Fn+F3 keys) and then resumes normal operation.
Installation Guide
HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED:
1. Start Windows 95/98.
2. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'.
3. Open the 'System' icon.
4. Click on the 'Device Manager' tab.
5. Expand the 'Sound, video and game controller' section
6. Select "ESS SOLO-1 PCI AudioDrive" and click on 'Properties'.
7. Click on the 'Driver' tab.
8. Click on the 'Driver File Details' button.
9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ESSOLO.VXD.
The version is displayed in the software version line.
HOW TO INSTALL THE DRIVER:
1. Start Windows 95/98.
2. Extract this package to the hard disk.
3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Run...'.
4. Type " C:\DRIVERS\W9X\AUDIO\SETUP " and click on OK. Or specify the installation program "SETUP.EXE" with full path you extracted the files to in step 2 and click on 'OK'.
5. Click on the 'Next' button.
6. Select 'Upgrade Drivers'.
7. Click on the 'Next' button.
8. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now".
9. Click on the 'Finish' button.
10. The system will restart. |
