Audio driver I for Windows 95/98 - ThinkPad 390X, 1400/1500(2621)

This package provides the audio driver for Microsoft Windows 95/98 users.
Only the following Machine Types and Models are supported: - ThinkPad 390X - All systems - ThinkPad i Series 1400: Type 2621 - 42* (Except 422, 429), 43*, 44* (Except 442), 46*, 48* (Except 482, 486, 489), 4A*, 4B*, 4C*, RR3, RR4, RR5 (Only Windows 98 is supported on the i Series.)
- ThinkPad i Series 1500: Type 2621 - 540, 541, 547, 548, 560, 567
Note: - Your machine type and model number can be found on the bottom of the unit next to the bar code label. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

I. Summary of changes

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 390X, i Series 1400/1500 Type 2621
II. Installation instructions
- Start Windows 95/98.
- Extract this package to the hard disk.
- Click on 'Start' then click on 'Run...'.
- In the Run dialog window, type " C:\DRIVERS\W9X\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE " to install the audio driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective.
UNATTENDED INSTALLATION
- Use 'SETUP.EXE /S' command at the step 4.
III. Uninstall instructions
- Start Windows 95/98.
- Extract this package to the hard disk.
- Click on 'Start' then click on 'Run...'.
- In the Run dialog window, type " C:\DRIVERS\W9X\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE " to install the audio driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
- Click on 'Next'.
- Select 'Uninstall Drivers', then click on 'Next'.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system for the removal to be effective.
IV. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 95/98.
- Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'
- Open the 'System' Icon.
- Click on the 'Device Manager' Tab.
- Expand the 'Sound, video and game controller' section
- Select "ESS SOLO-1 PCI AudioDrive" and click on 'Properties'.
- Click on the 'Driver' Tab.
- Click on the 'Driver File details' button.
- Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ESSOLO.VXD. The file has the version number embedded.
For example:
The file version is displayed as 4.05.00.1113.
