Modem ring driver I for Windows 98/Me - ThinkPad 1400, 1500 (2621)

This package provides the Modem Ring driver for Windows 98-Me users. The Modem Ring driver enables or updates the following functions:
- When a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the dial tone can be enabled (heard) with the system buzzer.
-W hen a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the ''resume on incoming call'' feature can be supported. (This feature is not supported by Windows 95-98 if PC Card Modem is used and this driver is not installed.)
Only the following Machine Types and Models are supported:
- ThinkPad i Series 1400: Type 2621 - 42* (Except 422, 429), 43*, 44* (Except 442), 46*, 48* (Except 482, 486, 489), 4A*, 4B*, 4C*, RR3, RR4, RR5,
- ThinkPad i Series 1500: Type 2621 - 540, 541, 547, 548, 560, 567
Note:
- Your machine type and model number can be found on the bottom of the unit next to the bar code label.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

NOTE : This driver will automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me.

I. Summary of changes

- (New) Support for ThinkPad i Series 1400 Model 420/460/480, and the ThinkPad i Series 1500 Model 540/560
- (New) Support for Windows Me(added)
II. Installation instructions
- Start Windows 98/Me.
- Extract the Modem Ring package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type in C:\DRIVERS\W9X\MODEMRNG\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. .
- Click Next to continue with the setup program.
- Follow the procedure to complete the installation.
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 98/Me.
- Click Start, then select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Open the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
- Move the scrollbar on the software list to find Modem Ring x.xx. The program name has the version number (x.xx) included.
