  3. Wait for five seconds.

These steps need to be completed only once with the System Program Service Diskette version 0.53WX or later. Once you have completed these steps, you will not need to follow these steps for any future BIOS releases.

Symptom corrected by version 0.54 - ISB054WW

  • --- A BIOS version number up for customers' tracking purposes.

NOTE: A fix was made to the previous version of this file (version 0.53) in November 2000 to incorporate a new a battery-saving feature. Because this fix affected a different area of code than the BIOS, the BIOS version number did not change at that time.

Since this proved difficult to track, version (0.54) has been released so users can be sure they have the battery saving update from <0.53WX - ISB053WW> installed. No other BIOS functionality change was done in this version. Users who have not updated their BIOS with <0.53WX - ISB053WW> should update to this new BIOS.
