How to determine if the latest level of ACP and V.90 code is installed on your system - ThinkPad 600, 770

Follow the instructions outlined below to determine if you are at the latest level of the ACP and V.90 code:

For ThinkPad 600, 770, and 770ED systems running Microsoft Windows 95/98

To ensure that the customer is using the latest version of ACP Modem code, check the information in the Quick Tests application ( Start, then Programs, then ThinkPad Modem and then Quick Tests ).
Quick Tests will show 3 lines in the top right-hand corner (see diagram below) . If there are not 3 lines, you are not using the latest level of modem software. The first line will display the level of the base code. Valid base code levels are either "ThinkPad Modem 2.35 Build 35" or "ThinkPad Modem 2.36 Build 36". If any other version is listed here, click here to download and install the latest version of the base ACP code .
After verifying that the correct base code is installed, or upgrading to the proper base code, please verify that the current version of the V.90 upgrade is installed. Currently that version is version 2.516. The third line of the Quick Tests application gives the version of the V.90 upgrade; the latest version will be displayed as "V.90 2.516". If any other version is listed there, or if no "V.90 ...." line is listed, click here to download and install the latest version of the V.90 upgrade .

For ThinkPad 600, 770, and 770ED systems running Windows NT 4.0

To ensure that the customer is using the latest version of ACP Modem code, check the information in the Quick Tests application ( Start, then Programs, then ThinkPad Modem and then Modem Quick Test ).
Quick Test will show 3 lines in the top right-hand corner (see diagram below). If there are not 3 lines, the customer is not using the latest level of modem software. The first two lines will display the level of the base code. The only valid base code level is "Windows NT, ThinkPad 3780i Release 2.35" (found on the first line) and "BLD10" (found on the second line) -- this means "Release 2.35 Build 10". If any other version is listed here, click here to download and install the latest version of the base ACP code .
After verifying that the correct base code is installed, or upgrading to the proper base code, please verify that the current version of the V.90 upgrade is installed. Currently that version is version 2.516. The third line of the Quick Test application gives the version of the V.90 upgrade; the latest version will be displayed as "V.90 2.516". If any other version is listed there, or if no "V.90 ...." line is listed, click here to download and install the latest version of the V.90 upgrade .

For ThinkPad 600E, 770X, and 770Z systems running Windows 95/98/NT 4.0

To ensure that the customer is using the latest version of ACP Modem code, check the information in the Modem QuickTest application ( Start, then Programs, then ThinkPad Modem and then Quick Tests ).
Modem QuickTest will show 3 lines in the top right-hand corner (see diagram below) . If there are not 3 lines, the customer is not using the latest level of modem software. The first line will display the level of the base code. Valid base code levels are either "ThinkPad Modem 2.51 Build 06" or "ThinkPad Modem 2.50 Build 20". If any other version is listed here, click here to download and install the latest version of the base ACP code .
