NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

NOTES:
- Use this driver only for ThinkPad computers with Mediamatics DVDExpress installed.
- This package cannot be installed without the Mediamatics DVDExpress DVD-Video player installed in the system. This package is for upgrade purpose only.
- Verify that the DVD-ROM drive is installed in your ThinkPad system.
- Start Windows 2000.
- Exit all Windows programs before running the DVDExpress Setup program.
- Extract the upgrade package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\DVD\SETUP.EXE to install the DVD player.
- Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
- Click Next in the Welcome screen. The Software License Agreement window will open.
NOTE: Before continuing with the installation, make certain you have read through and agree to all the terms of the license agreement. If you agree, click Yes to continue.
- Click Next to install DVDExpress in the default folder. The Setup program will begin copying files to your system.
- After all files are copied to your computer, click Finish to automatically restart your computer for the changes to take effect. When your computer restarts, the DVDExpress DVD player will be installed and ready to be used for Windows 2000.
For the best results while playing back DVDs under Windows 2000, the transfer mode for the DVD-ROM drive should be to be set to DMA mode. To enable DMA mode for your computer's DVD-ROM drive, following these instructions:
- Verify that the DVD-ROM drive is installed in your ThinkPad system.
- Click Start, then select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System applet. The "System Properties" window will appear.
- Click the Hardware tab.
- Click Device Manager, then click the + next to IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
- Highlight the Secondary IDE Channel device and double-click it to open its "Properties" window.
- Click the Advanced Settings tab.
- Under Device 0, locate the Transfer Mode: list box; and then select DMA if available.
- Click OK .
- Click Yes to allow the operating system to automatically restart your computer. When Windows restarts your computer, your DVD-ROM drive will run in DMA mode.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start the DVD player.
- Click the DVD Options button, which is at the bottom left corner of the "DVD Player" window. The DVD Options window will appear.
- Look at the Build version to determine the DVD player version number.
